Meadow Vue RanchScenic Trail Rides Along the Continental Divide
I was just informed that Meadow Vue has openings in their summer youth Camp for the weeks of August 6th and 13th. For more information visit their website at http://www.meadowvueranch.comLocated less then ten miles from the Wild Rose, Meadow Vue Ranch offers trail rides, weekly rodeos, dinner, and live entertainment. On Friday July 14th 2006 I took my wife there for our Anniversary for a trail ride (her favorite part), rodeo, and Stake Dinner (my favorite part).
My wife who is disabled really likes horses, in her mind the the $30.00 each we paid for the evening was worth it just to be able to pet the horses. The staff did an excellent job of helping her get on and off the horse, and making sure that she felt comfortable during the ride.
All the way through the ride one of the trail guides stayed with her, talked with her, and looked after any needs or concerns that she had. Throughout the evening, they were very helpful and pleasant. I had called a number of other trail ride places to see if they could accommodate my wife, I never heard back from any of them. On a quad ride I stopped by Meadow Vue and talked with them about her being able to ride and was told that as long as she is able to stand with help, they could accommodate her. We were told to arrive for the ride by 5:15, we got there a few minutes early, so my wife had time to pet the horses while we waited. The ride started out easy, across the road and through a meadow with a nice view of Henry's Lake, Then back across the road into the trees and up the mountain. This was the mixed ride, the easy ride is all in open country, while other trail rides are all in the trees and even across the mountain top.
Our Ride lasted about an hour, then we all gathered in the arena for the rodeo. The rodeo wasn't professional/competition grade. But I had not expected it to be. Meadow Vue offers a youth summer program where 12 - 18 year olds. Some of the youth take part in the Rodeo. I was very entertaining, and well worth the time and money.
After the rodeo we enjoyed a stake fry and barbeque dinner. The stake was excellent one of the best I have ever eaten. That's saying a lot since I grill a mean stake. The dinner included Chicken, Potatoes, a Salad, and Baked Beans with cobbler and Ice Cream for dessert. There was plenty to eat, if you leave hungry, you have only yourself to blame. Live entertainment was provided during dinner that included a singer/guitarist, and dancing by the Youth. Several points during the performance the audience was encouraged to get involved. It was a lot of fun.
Overall I have nothing bad to say about our experience, the staff, meals, and more. I would and will highly recommend them for both the trail rides and the dinner/rodeo. Both my wife and I look forward to returning there next month with our youngest daughter when she comes back from her summer camp, and most likely will send here there next summer for camp. The rodeo and dinner are offered from Mid June to Mid August on Wed, Fri, and Sat nights. Reservations are required, call them at (208) 558-7411.
