2007 Henry's Lake Opener

The 2007 opening weekend on Henry's Lake in Island Park is finally here and what a weekend it has been.  In spite of a cold start earlier in the week, the weather has been near perfect.  A beautiful blue sky no wind to speak of, and shore to shore fishermen.  Well two out of three not bad.

Fishing does not open for another day, but I think half the state of Idaho has been in today to get their Fishing license.  What a day, the line was out the door and kept coming until after midnight.  As for everyone else in the State of Idaho, I think they were on the highway with me.  And the police where everywhere.  I've never seen so many cars pulled over in my life time.  This must be a record crop for the State of Idaho.

I don't have my digital camera this year so we are taking pictures with a disposable.  It will be weeks before I can get any images uploaded to the net.  But I wanted to congratulate Chris Coombs for his 28" 12 pound hybrid the largest fish we have seen today.  Other large fish for the day include

Another beautiful day in paradise.  I have an unofficial report of a 13 pounder yesterday.  I've talked to two people who saw it, but it was never brought in for us to weigh.
